In June 1897, Godden moved to Sioux Falls and opened a new location in a frame building at the southeast corner of 10th and Main. He was joined in August by Levi W. Ballard, Samuel’s son, who had recently become part of the firm after his graduation from Nora Springs Commercial College in Iowa.
